We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join the team and enhance technical standards in an innovative Council working in one of the fastest growing cities in the country.

You will be responsible for managing projects within the team to ensure effective delivery of customer focused services on time and within agreed budget so extensive experience of working in finance and accounting in a complex organisation is essential.

As a fully qualified CCAB Accountant (or equivalent) you will have extensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting practice which will enable you to manage and motivate your team in compiling accurate, timely and fit for purpose financial information; which will be presented to Members and Officers of the Council as well as other external bodies.

The successful post holder will play a pivotal role in preparing annual statement(s) of accounts for the Council and other associated legal entities as well as ensuring that auditors are fully supported throughout.  In addition to this you will identify, analyse and report on the financial implications of Council initiatives including new projects, new accounting and statutory requirements as well as providing recommendations on system developments.
