This is an opportunity to provide strategic financial leadership in Haringey Council, working closely with the Director of Finance, to direct and shape our Finance Service.

Haringey has a strong direction, a new plan for the future and a collaborative culture to deliver the required transformational challenges. Finance Services will be at the heart of this transformation and we are looking for a talented and aspiring individual to develop their career with us.

New homes and development projects, service transformation, potentially a new financial system: there’s so much happening in Haringey – and Finance is and must be at the centre of this. That means you’ll have a varied and challenging remit as Assistant Director, which comes with the statutory role of Deputy S151 officer.

Working closely with the Director of Finance, you’ll gain an invaluable insight into leadership as you provide expert support.  Together you’ll develop our financial planning, policy, strategy and control, developing good practice and improving governance and business partnering capability.

You’ll find colleagues in our service teams highly collaborative and open to innovative thinking – giving you the chance to bring new solutions to areas as diverse as income maximisation, and care services finances.  Your influence will go beyond borough boundaries, as you help to build our profile right across the capital.

CCAB-qualified (or equivalent), you have in-depth knowledge of finance functions and corporate financial planning. You can devise financial strategy, set direction and manage large, complex budgets. A local government background means you have fine-tuned political sense and relationship-building skills – essential for embedding solutions and good business partnering practice.

If you’re ready to make plans happen and bring change for us and our borough, please visit www.haringey.gov.uk/ad-finance for further information.

For a confidential discussion about these roles, please contact our retained consultant at Penna: Anthony Hopkin on 07500042272, Ed Harper on 07540 706307 and Rebecca Rampat on 07739985332.

Closing date: 5pm, Monday 25th February 2019.
