Reading Borough Council has rebuilt its finance service to deliver a function that is flexible, adaptable and respected. The service aims to be proactive and innovative in tackling the Council’s finances on multiple fronts. So far, the Council has prepared a robust and challenging Medium Term Financial Strategy, which requires £40 million of savings to be delivered over the next three years, it is seeking to improve the management and delivery of its capital programme, including further additions to its exciting business and housing investment portfolio and the Council wants to be innovative and to exploit its commercial potential.

About the role

The Council’s Finance Business Partners are pivotal in our Finance Service and we need an experienced professional to add to our existing team. This opportunity is to support our Housing and Neighbourhoods team but there will be career development opportunities in the future to support other areas. The Business Partner will have a fantastic opportunity, to help to establish a high-performing team that will drive high standards of support to each director and their management teams. Pay award pending.
