We have two exciting opportunities in the role of Senior Accountant available, between them covering the services across four of the council’s committees. You will be responsible for revenue budget preparation, monitoring and closure of the final accounts.
Additionally one of the posts will notably be responsible for day-to-day Treasury Management activities and monitoring against Prudential Code Indicators, whilst the other will be responsible for advising and assisting on the Procurement activities of the council.
Excellent communication skills will be vital in the provision of sound financial guidance and in the regular meetings you will hold with a variety of officers across the council.
CIPFA qualified, you will have post-qualification experience in Local Authority finance. Excellent technical and analytical skills, as well as the ability to present and work alone or as part of a team are essential.

Company
Ribble Valley is in the County of Lancashire. The administrative centre for the district is the historic market town of Clitheroe. The industrial and commercial centre for the west of the borough is the town of Longridge. The remaining area is mainly rural, ranging from large villages to small hamlets. Some settlements are accessible along the A59 corridor; others are more remote from services and public transport. Along with ancient woodland, biological heritage sites, conservation areas and sites of special scientific interest, two thirds of Ribble Valley is part of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Ribble Valley has one of the lowest council tax levels in the country and the lowest in Lancashire and high levels of customer satisfaction with services.
