The Principal Accountant is a key role within our newly restructured Finance team. They are responsible for overseeing financial planning, management and coordination of financial arrangements for a given area across both revenue and capital finance and/or cross cutting areas such as corporate and statutory reporting, and well as technical finance. In addition to this, the role will be supporting improvements in processes, and being part of the wider finance agenda. We require two Principal Accountant to support the following services:
- Education, Youth and Schools: this will include building effective relationships with Schools and their stakeholders to ensure the accurate distribution of schools funding;
- Resources and Central Support Services: this will include being closely involved with some of the Council’s major transformational projects, and working in conjunction with a range of colleagues and partners to ensure the adoption of best practice in financial management.
