Interim Finance Manager
CIPFA-Penna are working in partnership with a large local authority in the West Midlands that are undergoing significant operational and cultural change, culminating in the requirement for an Interim Finance Manager in their Social Care (Adults) directorate.
Working closely with the Head of Finance for Social Care and the Chief Finance Officer, the remit of the Interim Finance Manager will be to provide solid leadership to a small finance team, helping prioritise / organise a burgeoning and complex workload, translate large amounts of raw data into meaningful business insight for improved decision-making and budgetary control and bring order / direction to the wider budgetary maintenance and management accounting issues the council is currently facing.
As this role will be crucial in helping the CFO achieve operational and cultural change, it is important that the successful individual bring with them an ability to work at pace and to deal efficiently with change. Additionally, the ability to pick up work quickly with limited guidance will be of great advantage – therefore it is also important that the successful candidate has a strong background of management accounting and budget monitoring / budget-holder management in a local authority environment (ideally in social care services) would be a distinct benefit.
