To help us achieve our ambitions, we’re looking for a Finance Manager (Business Partner) who can forge strong business partner relationships with our Assistant Directors. By making sure they - and our service managers - have expert financial advice, you’ll give the council the tools to succeed. You’ll also lead part of the Accountancy team, managing four other Finance Business Partners to deliver a high-quality finance service. By making sure they understand the business areas they support, they’ll be able to offer effective finance solutions. Plus, with personal responsibility for supporting our Regeneration Team, you’ll play a vital role in our ambitious, innovative and creative Regeneration Programme. 

Your role in building the Stevenage of tomorrow will be vital. Which is why you’ll come with experience of managing accountancy services. This will have seen you become closely involved in budget setting and monitoring, closure of accounts, and the production of a Statement of Accounts. You’ll also need extensive, up-to-date knowledge of Local Government accounting practices and procedures. And you understand the principles of local authorities funding and accounting. Importantly, you can bring a great track record of delivering effective and responsive financial services by implementing innovation and creativity.
