PO4-PO5 £36,978 to £46,347 Plus Performance Related Pay
Full time, 36 hours per week, Permanent
Job reference: R006498
The posts are located in the Resources Directorate, within the Accountancy section and would suit a CIPFA finalist or similar with strong technical accounting skills. These posts provide an opportunity for someone to gain experience of working for two Councils in a single role. Apart from having a 'can do' attitude to work, you will be working within a busy team, and will need to be organised and able to prioritise your work to hit key deadlines. You will be willing to take on responsibility for a technical area and proactively lead service improvement. As well as technical accounting, you must have strong communication skills and be confident in using Word, Excel and integrated accounting software.
Based in Wandsworth, there are three posts on offer, between them covering a wide range of tasks including: capital programme and fixed asset accounting, treasury management, pension fund accounting, collection fund accounting, responsibility for different areas of the financial accounts, consultation responses and analysing the local government finance settlement for both councils. Expertise/experience in any of these areas would be beneficial but eagerness to learn is essential.
In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance. These include a generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays.
In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as Performance Related Pay, membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments. A wide range of developmental opportunities are also offered.
If you have any questions or would like to speak to someone about the role, please contact Steve Carter on 020 8891 7200
