These posts provide an opportunity for someone to gain experience of working for two Councils in a single role. The posts are located in the Resources Directorate, within Accountancy and would suit a part qualified accountant with an interest in technical accounting.  Apart from having a 'can do' attitude to work, you will be working within a busy team, and will need to be flexible and keen to learn.  You will be working on several key areas but expected to work in the wider accountancy team during key times.  You must have strong communication skills and be confident in using Word, Excel and integrated accounting software.

Based in Wandsworth, there are two posts on offer. These key posts will cover both councils as well as the joint Pension Fund. Key tasks include supporting senior colleagues with specific projects, financing of the capital programme, fixed asset accounting, assisting with treasury management, and pension fund accounting. The successful post holders will also play a key role in the closing of both Councils' accounts.  Expertise/experience in any of these areas would be beneficial but eagerness to learn is essential.

In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance.  These include a generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays.

In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as Performance Related Pay, membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments. A wide range of developmental opportunities are also offered.

If you have any questions or would like to speak to someone about the role, please contact Steve Carter on 020 8891 7200
