Senior Accountant (Financial Control and Treasury)
£35,202 – £40,001 per annum
Depending on skills and experience

This role is ideally suited to an ambitious accounting technician or part qualified accountant who is keen to develop their career and expand their knowledge and experience in a small and dynamic finance team. You will be exposed to a broad range of financial control and financial management activities at an operational and strategic level.

You will be directly responsible for financial systems control and maintenance ensuring that systems remain up to date and that they are being utilised efficiently and effectively. You will also be responsible for delivering the day to day treasury management function including managing daily cashflow and arranging appropriate investments and borrowings and you will support on strategic Treasury Management reporting including preparing the annual strategies. Other responsibilities include debt management, managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, insurance contracts and VAT.

Ideally you will be experienced in treasury management, have good financial system knowledge and experience and have some experience of managing projects. Experience of working in local government would be desirable but is not essential.

You will have strong interpersonal skills that will enable you to form productive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues and external clients and provide clear and practical advice including to those without financial backgrounds. You will be proficient in the use of office applications, be well organised and proactive in your approach to planning work and be able to demonstrate that you can meet tight deadlines.

To be successful you will be AAT qualified or part qualified CCAB (incl. CIMA or equivalent).

This post is offered on a full time basis of 36 hours per week.
