We are looking for a qualified accountant to lead one of our two financial accounts teams. As an active member of the management team, you will have an analytical mind, be a well-developed communicator, be self-motivated and be committed to providing good customer care. This post provides an invaluable opportunity for someone to gain experience of working for two Councils in a single role.

As the successful candidate you will have responsibility for leading a team whose primary task is to close the accounts for both Councils, including the production of the final Statements and liaising with the external auditors. Along with this, you will support the Chief Accountant in the continuous improvement in Accountancy Service through project work, and the planning and implementation of quality initiatives.

Although not essential, ideally you will have an in-depth knowledge of statutory financial reporting requirements and financial regulations combined with proven experience of local authority accounting.

In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance.

These include a generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays.

In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as Performance Related Pay, membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments. A wide range of developmental opportunities are also offered.

If you have any questions or would like to speak to someone about the role, please contact Steve Carter on 020 8891 7200

Closing date: 11th November 2018
