Finance Manager, Deputy S151 (Vacancy No 400) and Principal Accountant (Vacancy No 401)

We are looking for two CCAB or CIMA-qualified accountants to help support our ambitious agenda, driving forward regeneration schemes, developing our commercial strategy and supporting the delivery of services.

Finance Manager & Deputy S151 – Salary Grade 14 (£41,846 - £44,697) plus £2,885 (Deputy S151)

A key role and with deputy section 151 officer responsibilities you will manage the provision of the accountancy and payments functions of the council and deputise for the Head of Finance and Property.

You will be instrumental in bringing forward and implementing new initiatives and commercial strategies and plans to ensure the sustainability of council services, working closely with the Head of Service.

An experienced senior financial leader you will have significant and practical post-qualification experience together with an understanding of all current major issues affecting local government finance

Principal Accountant – Salary Grade 13 (£39,002 - £41,846)

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will lead finance business partners and the rest of the finance unit in supporting the commercial strategy and ambition of the council.  You will support the Finance Manager in co-ordinating the preparation of the council’s budget and statement of accounts, building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams.

With post qualification experience in a senior finance role you will be an effective negotiator and advocate and be able to develop and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally.
