Senior Accountant (Projects)
Are you a part- or fully qualified accountant? This is an outstanding opportunity! In this new role, you will work in a cross-departmental finance team which provides business partnering support to major transformational programmes, including the relocation of the City Corporation’s wholesale markets (https://www.egi.co.uk/news/city-of-london-to-consolidate-and-relocate-londons-markets/), the relocation of the Museum of London (http://museum.london/), and the London-wide business rates pool which allows the 34 London authorities a greater share of the c.£10bn of tax income they collect.
The City of London Corporation is a fascinating organisation: we combine ancient traditions and historic functions with our role as a modern local authority, provide a range of specialist services to businesses in the City and to our residents, workers and visitors. Many of our services have regional, national and international significance directly affecting people outside the City.
We’re looking for a customer-service oriented, dynamic, and energetic CCAB part- or fully qualified accountant with experience in public sector finance. You must be able to demonstrate experience of business partnering, providing support and challenge to senior managers using knowledge from your experience or training and qualifications of local authority capital accounting, business partnering, the principles of financial modelling (such as discounted cashflows and net present value calculations), and the treasury five case model.
The Corporation is committed to being Relevant, Reliable, Responsible and Radical. Our unique remit goes beyond that of a local and police authority including providing flagship cultural organisations such as the Barbican Centre and Guildhall School. We manage and protect almost 11,000 acres of open space outside of the City, own and operate three premier wholesale food markets, and run the nation’s Central Criminal Court at the Old Bailey.
If you’re ready to make a significant contribution to the future of the City in this role we’d love to hear from you.
