The Borough of Broxbourne is in south east Hertfordshire bordering London and the M25, with a population of about 93,600. Harlow is in west Essex, located on the border of Hertfordshire and is near the M11 with a population of about 89,700. Epping Forest District has a population of around 124,000 and the Council office is located in Epping, West Essex, approximately five miles south of Harlow.

Salary up to £27,000 p.a.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join our dynamic team providing internal audit services to Broxbourne, Harlow and Epping Forest Councils. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an internal audit environment (regardless of the sector), will have a positive approach, possess excellent interpersonal skills and must be able to communicate effectively at all levels. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the risk-based approach to audit, deliver quality internal audit reviews, offer advice on internal control design and actively contribute in ensuring sound governance and risk management in all three Councils. Flexibility to work across all three Councils is essential and previous experience of working across multiple sites or clients is desirable.
Applicants should have a Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors qualification or should be working towards it. However, candidates with a relevant accountancy qualification or internal audit experience will also be considered. Training packages are available for candidates to undertake training for the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) qualification where appropriate.
The employing authority is Broxbourne Council with a service level agreement in place to provide audit services to Harlow and Epping Forest Councils.
