Salford Internal Audit Services, based within Salford City Council, provide a high quality internal audit service for the Council, partner organisations, and a number of external clients.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Auditor to join our well-established team.

We are looking for a highly skilled Principal Auditor, who is self-motivated with a positive and flexible approach to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced individual with strong analytical, negotiating and influencing skills.
The ideal candidate will have substantial practical experience in risk-based internal auditing. An ability to conduct internal audits of contracts, information technology, grant compliance, or information governance would be advantageous, as would experience undertaking fraud investigations.
You will have a thorough understanding of modern internal audit techniques, Public Sector Internal Audit Standards and good practice, and will be able to supervise and develop staff in order to assist the audit manager in the delivery of the internal audit plan and maintain compliance with the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards.
Good time management and planning skills are essential to this challenging role, as are excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate with senior management and clients from a wide range of disciplines and levels.
You will have a relevant qualification (CMIIA, CPFA, CCAB or equivalent) with substantial internal audit experience.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who can work full-time, however, consideration will be given to candidates seeking part-time.
