Job description

Title:                                       Senior Financial Accountant  

Department:                           FP&A, Finance

Tenure:                                   Temporary - maternity leave cover

Location:                               121 St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2

Reporting to:                         Head of FP&A  

 

Specifically, the duties of the post are:

Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, management accounts, payroll modelling, payroll forecasting, planning and external audit.

  • Tracking Group cost savings and efficiency projects for operational expenditure.

  • Tracking strategic project spend for operational expenditure.

  • Managing the business recruitment approvals process with HR

  • Continuously improve financial reporting methodologies and outputs to meet the changing requirements of the organisation, with a focus on high quality outputs and automation.

Qualifications:

 

  • Qualified accountant

  • Primary degree beneficial

 

Knowledge & Experience – (Essential):

  • Qualified accountant with 3+ years PQE, one of which should be in a commercial, multi-currency environment of a large company.

  • Excel modelling skills

  • Payroll forecasting

  • Budget management

 

Knowledge & Experience (Desirable):

 

  • Big 4 trained

  • Cost reduction programme experience

  • Project cost control

  • FP&A experience

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven track record of success and high quality outputs.

  • Strong results focus, allied with an ability to work to and enforce strict reporting deadlines combined with excellent attention to detail.

    Contribute to and support continuous improvement and change to improve and develop service levels.

  • Communication Skills: Proven ability to communicate complex ideas. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills appropriate to audience and situation.

  • Project Management Skills: Ability to ensure that project plans are communicated and that all timelines are met

  • Self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team: Ability to operate effectively as part of a team, is co-operative and patient; shares work and information; establishes rapport, can influence and develop effective networks

  • I.T. skills:  Knowledge of MS Office suite. Experience with Agresso accounting system advantageous

  • Conscientious: Have a pro-active approach to work, anticipating and resolving problems in advance; have keen attention to detail - from anticipating and addressing issues in advance to understanding requests and delivering quality work.

  • Flexibility: Can operate flexibly within a busy environment; can shift focus when required.

  • Customer Focus: Have strong customer service skills.

  • Motivated: Display a ‘can-do’ attitude; demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for the role.
