Finance Manager (Financial Control & Banking)
Ealing Council is changing. Our Future Ealing programme is about working with local people to make the borough better at a time of significantly reduced funding. Future Ealing is also about transforming services and making sure that we have the right tools for the job through our Future Working and Future Digital programmes. In the Finance service we are embedding our vision of ‘Inspiring Excellence’, moving away from a traditional accounting focus towards professional services based on quality assurance and matrix working, all at an accelerating pace.
Ealing is a great place to work. Our New Ways of Working initiative includes extensive investment in ICT equipment and systems that support very flexible working arrangements. Opening of the new Elizabeth line in 2019 also means we will be just 11 minutes from central London by tube.
We are looking for an experienced CCAB qualified accountant with excellent financial accounting skills and extensive local government experience who will help us embed sound financial management processes, provide technical insight and lead continuous improvement projects. You will have lead responsibility for preparing the statement of accounts, liaising with external audit, managing our banking services team, oversight of the financial control environment and providing VAT advice.
This is a great opportunity if you are ready to take the next step in your professional career and support us in achieving our priorities for taking Ealing’s Finance service forward.
For a confidential discussion about the role, please contact Pat Main, Head of Corporate Finance, on 020 8825 9727
This post is subject to Ealing's enhanced vetting process.
