Your role in our journey
As Principal Auditor you will provide day-to-day operational management of our audit, governance, risk assurance and advisory service. You will develop and deliver a service that is professional, independent and objective in its work across the Council and a diverse and complex range of major external fee paying clients. This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the future of all client organisations, by providing assurance on controls, governance and risk management arrangements and identifying opportunities for efficiencies. You will also be instrumental in shaping strategies, policies and procedures, and developing staff.
What you’ll need
To join us, you will need ambition, drive and enthusiasm as well as a professional Level 7 qualification in a relevant field. You will also have substantial, senior level experience in local government, the wider public sector or a commercially driven / client focused internal audit, financial management, governance or assurance environment. Crucially, you have a demonstrable flair for supervising and motivating staff, and for challenging, influencing, facilitating and negotiating with managers at the highest level.
