An exciting opportunity for a qualified Accountant has arisen within Financial Services. We require a talented and enthusiastic professional to play a key role in the Councils Finance team. Managing a team of Business Partners to provide strong financial support to services through budget setting and monitoring, and leading on the closure of the Councils annual accounts.

The Council is continually striving to deliver savings through improved ways of working. While you will have a key role in coordinating financial processes, we are also seeking an individual who can drive change and improvements in financial practice across the organisation.

This highly influential role calls for much more than your ability as a technically proficient accountant.  You will have good knowledge of local government and the environment in which it operates, and the ability and confidence to work at the strategic levels of the organisation.

The successful candidate will be flexible, adaptable and thrive challenges. They will have a good technical understanding of financial management, financial modelling and have an innovative and creative approach to problem solving. They will bring commercial acumen, experience of working at the forefront of financial practice and bring leadership skills that inspire those around them.
