Full Time

Based in Luang Pabang, famous for its unique and well preserved architectural, religious and cultural heritage, our partner is a newly established paediatric hospital, offering free medical care and health education to children in Laos.

Since opening, the hospital treats just over 20,000 children annually and is the only hospital in northern Laos offering neonatal services and offering life-saving care for newborn babies.  The hospital has a strong emphasis on education, working with family members of the patients on topics such a nutrition, vaccinations, breastfeeding support, oral health, family planning and disease prevention.

They recently started using a new accounting system and are seeking the support of a volunteer to review its use. You will be the first volunteer on assignment at the organisation, and your role will be to undertake a review of their accounting & financial management controls, procedures and systems, making and implementing recommendations for best practice based on the complexity of their accounting, resources available to them and skillset of local staff.

This voluntary assignment is a unique opportunity to apply your professional skills in an international development setting, significantly contribute to the support and development of local staff and have a lasting impact. If you are a qualified accountant, looking to make a difference and gain relevant international experience to help you transition into the sector, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
