About us

In April 2017 the London Borough of Sutton and the Royal Borough of Kingston launched an exciting new Shared Finance Service. Our ambition is to ‘Add Value, Inspire Success’ and we currently have a number of exciting opportunities for capable and positive individuals who are ready to join us in realising this ambition.

About the role

This role is part of a resource pool providing support to both Kingston and Sutton Council's budget setting, financial reporting and closing of accounts processes. You will have responsibility for a variety of tasks across these functions, which could include the completion of government returns, analysis of data, completion of notes to the accounts or production of parts of the Council's budget reports and supporting information.

This role is based across both Boroughs and you will be expected to spend time in both Sutton and Kingston, though in the short term you are likely to spend a greater proportion of your time in Kingston.

About you

To succeed you will need to be confident with technology, ideally with experience of using Agresso and Google applications. You will need to have a flexible approach to work, responding well to changing priorities and competing demands on your time. Attention to detail is important to ensure data is accurate but presentation is also key and you will need to be confident in presenting financial information in both written and verbal form.

Our offer

We can offer you a supportive environment to grow and develop your career with the opportunity to put your ideas across. Innovation and ambition is strongly encouraged here in Sutton and Kingston, and you’ll get a great feel for that working in our friendly and collaborative environment.

In addition we offer a modern and flexible working environment for our staff allowing you to work flexibly from our Sutton and Kingston Offices, whilst on the move, and at home following the introduction of Google Chromebooks and Google Apps, which have acted as a key enabler for collaborative and streamlined working.

We also offer a huge variety of staff benefits including:

●      27 days annual leave plus bank holidays

●      Local and national discounts for shopping, eating out and leisure activities

●      Interest free season ticket loans

●      Local Government Pension Scheme

●      Bicycle loan facilities and cycle to work scheme

●      Childcare vouchers

●      Subsidised gym membership
