Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group is the NHS organisation responsible for planning, designing and buying health services on behalf of the population of Hertfordshire. They currently have a budget of around £800 million that they spend on community, hospital and mental health services.
I am proud to be supporting Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group in their search for a Band 7 Finance Manager to manage their community services budgets. The role will be supporting the Senior Management Team and Community Services budget holders through a significant period of change and at a financially-challenged time for the NHS.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing advice and support to budget holders to ensure achievement of performance to plan;
- Coordinating and producing monthly and yearly management accounts and supporting the non-acute finance report;
- Analysing and interpreting information on the performance of the community contracts and identifying reasons for variances;
- Agreeing contract plans, producing contract analysis and validation and agreeing the final position of the contracts with the Trusts.
The successful applicant will be a CCAB-Finalist or newly-qualified accountant with significant experience in financial management and reporting. You will ideally come from within the NHS, but may also come from the wider public sector or commercial sectors. Applicants will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to be able to interpret high volumes of data within a short timescale. A strong ability to understand and communicate complex financial information across to non-financial stakeholders and the senior management team is essential and you should demonstrate tact and diplomacy. You will also show resilience and commitment to drive change in this fast moving and changing environment.
