I am pleased to be supporting Smart DCC in their current search for a Financial Analyst.  The organisation is helping to deliver a large programme to build a smart metering network across Great Britain.  This network aims to help Great Britain become a global leader in smart energy and the development of smart grids.  Smart DCC is working on behalf of this programme to establish and operate the data and communication infrastructure that will enable all UK homes to have a smart meter by 2020.

As the Financial Analyst, you will take on a challenging role that will develop both your technical and soft skills.  You will be given responsibility from day one, supporting the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to develop and deliver high quality reporting for the commercial finance function.  You will provide financial support to the Finance Business Partners, developing value-add insight and helping to drive change and efficiencies across the business.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering robust and accurate analysis of business performance;
  • Supporting the FP&A manager in producing the monthly reporting pack;
  • Driving improvement in financial processes, business analysis and reporting;
  • Supporting Executive leaders in the Corporate Function on month-end management reporting, quarterly forecasts, budgets and long term plans.

The successful applicant will be a part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountant with experience of working in a commercial finance role.   You will come from a range of sectors, including Commercial, public sector or practice.  Applicants will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to be able to interpret large volumes of data within a short timescale.  You will be a confident individual who can communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholders and takes initiative and responsibility for their own deliverables.  Finally, you will take an interest in challenging assumptions and processes and enjoy working in a changing and progressive environment.
