Head of Finance Business Partnering
An outstanding opportunity has arisen to join Barnardo’s, the UK’s leading national children’s charity, as Head of Finance Business Partnering, based in London. Reporting to the Corporate Director of Finance & Resources and acting as a key member of the Corporate leadership Group and Finance senior management team, this post will lead the development of financial strategies and manage the finance business partnering for the entire charity.
Leading a team of nine, you will be Barnardo’s lead on all financial planning activities as well as providing commercial acumen to: retail and trading performance, bids, tenders, appraisals, fundraising opportunities, partnership opportunities, asset management, pricing strategy, sustainable cost reduction, overhead cost recovery and resource deployment. The Finance Business Partnering function is predominantly based in the Head office site in Barkingside; however there is strong matrix of working relationships with the Region and Nation Finance Teams within the Children’s Service operation of Barnardo’s.
With a passion for continuous improvement, you will be a qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience of leading, developing and managing finance teams, especially in the production of budgets and forecasts. Additionally, you should have the ability to undertake financial planning, analysis and modelling in regard to the appraisal of projects and the development of business cases. First rate written and verbal communication skills will be essential as it is important to engage people and build stakeholder relationships internally and externally.
There is a requirement to work from Barkingside 2-3 days per week; however, there is also flexibility to work from Euston or home location. This is a national lead role and you will need to set your own schedule for regularised visits to regional Finance stakeholders. Barnardo’s are also open to offering flexible working arrangements to accommodate for various commutes and non-work commitments.
