Finance Business Partner
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated finance professional to provide professional financial advice and support for the Housing and Communities Directorate. In this pivotal role, you will lead in all aspects of the finance service for the Directorate, including the production of budget monitoring reports and closure of accounts as well as budget setting and financial planning.
The Housing and Communities Directorate includes the Council’s Housing Revenue Account, which provides for the management of around 9,000 homes. The role will include working closely with managers to provide financial advice on the Council’s ambitious Affordable Housing Programme, and support in longer term financial planning and strategy. With continued funding cuts, the Council is striving to deliver savings through improved ways of working, including projects such as the Housing Transformation Programme.
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to drive performance and add value to this role.
The successful candidate will be a part-qualified Accountant actively studying towards full qualification, or fully qualified. It is essential that they have extensive knowledge of local government and the environment in which it operates and the ability and confidence to work strategically.
The role requires someone who is flexible, adaptable and thrives when given new challenges. You will also need to be a dynamic and highly motivated individual who can work effectively with managers at all levels with the confidence to present and provide advice to key senior managers and stakeholders. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
