Craven District Council requires a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with strong technical accounting skills to undertake the role of Accountant.
Reporting directly to the Accountancy Services Manager, you’ll be part of a dedicated and highly capable team that provides a wide range of accounting and financial management services.
In addition to a competitive salary, the post offers an excellent opportunity for an innovative individual to undertake a broad and varied range of accountancy and other related work, make the most of their sound financial and management accounting skills and contribute to the development of the Service.
You will have significant accounting and financial management experience, preferably gained in local government, which should be complemented by sound technical knowledge, together with an AAT or CCAB qualification & membership. In particular, you will have experience of the preparation of budgets, budget monitoring and final accounts in a large organisation.
We are looking for someone who is committed to continual improvement, is able to use initiative and who will ensure that service objectives are achieved.
The role will be based in Skipton – the gateway to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
