Chief Finance Officer
An interesting new opportunity has arisen at a NHS organisation in the South of England for an interim Chief Finance Officer to lead the finance team through a busy spell.
You will be the governing body's professional expert on finance ensuring that the organisation meets its statutory requirements with regard to finance. The role will also include leading the negotiation and management of the contract with the main providers, doing the utmost to continue positive working relationships. A crucial part of the work will be the leadership of a dedicated finance team and the guidance and support they will need around QIPP. Although the post holds day-to-day responsibility for financial matters including strategy development, governance and management on behalf of the organisation, there are tight financial constraints which impose a degree of challenge upon the situation.
You should be a qualified accountant with significant director level experience in other NHS bodies and have a full understanding of the current landscape. The ideal candidate is likely to demonstrate strong leadership across finance and governance and will be able to inspire full confidence in the organisation’s financial position and financial management. In order to hit the ground running, first rate communication skills and the ability to rapidly build effective working relationships, especially with partner organisations, will be very important.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to gain experience in a very challenged and interesting health economy, where working in partnership with others is critical.
For the sake of clarity, this role will sit within the scope of IR35.
