Deputy Director of Finance
An interesting Deputy Director of Finance position has arisen at a University in the North West for an experienced finance professional to lend support while the department goes through a period of transformation.
Working closely with the Director of Finance this position will lead the University’s financial planning & analysis (FP&A) team to allow the function to successfully integrate whilst meeting a demanding schedule of work. The role will ensure the organisation’s FP&A activity works in concert with the University’s goals and aspirations; leading robust and timely analysis for both existing and development activities. The scope covers the whole University including subsidiaries and associated organizations both in UK and overseas.
The successful candidate will be a qualified, or equivalent, accountant with an extensive track record of managing FP&A teams and activities including engagement of advisors. Crucially, this person must be able to demonstrate the ability to engage the University’s executive and governance community in good practice FP&A. With experience in medium to large sized, complex organisations it is envisaged candidates will have the ability to engender commercial and proactive FP&A principles and integrate best practice in the control framework. To this end, first rate communication skills will be important.
