Trustees Required

We are looking for people who share our vision of supporting the Newham community to become more active, not just physically, but culturally, socially and also economically.

We have vacancies on our existing Board of Trustees at our newly formed Leisure and Cultural Trust known as activeNewham.

We work with individuals and communities, supporting them to develop a wide range of activities and ensuring that all our support contributes to achieving shared outcomes. By working with people rather than doing it for them, we are developing a diverse network of local enterprises running everything from sports clubs to performing arts centres, or just organising events in their local park.

The Board of Trustees will meet monthly at our head office to be based in Stratford. Trustees can be as proactive as they have the time as they will also be welcome to visit our offices and leisure centres anytime to see how we work and will be invited to assist with interviewing, fundraising, decision making etc.

Newham is setting up activeNewham as an independent trust (seeking charitable status) to run leisure and cultural services in Newham. activeNewham will not be just an operator, but is charged with transforming participation in sport and culture.
