Purpose of role - Manage the production of a timely and accurate management accounting and budgeting information service for a group of portfolios to enable portfolio leads and SMTs plan their service provision within budget allocations and maintain budgetary control throughout the year. Dimensions of post - Financial - Direct or Non-Direct
Assist with preparation and monitoring of Annual Budgets - revenue -c. £250m per year with direct responsibility for a portfolio of budgets totalling c. £50m
Assist with preparation and monitoring of capital programme - c. £13m per year
Staff Responsibilities - Direct or Non-Direct
The post-holder directly manages 2 (two) Management Accountants.
Experience:
Budgeting, management accounting, forecasting and variance analysis, preferably in the public sector.
Reporting and financial management.
Using modern finance accounting packages.
Experience of working in a management accounting role for a similar sized organisation.
You will be a fully Qualified Accountant
Ideally with Public Sector experience
Available on short notice to accommodate an 11 month contract
Experience of managing a small team
