Working closely with the Managing Director, the main function of this position is to look after the management accounts and credit control, to produce account information and reporting structures in order to obtain a strict level of financial control and make sure the policies and procedures to be followed. Organise income, expenditure, sales, payroll and stock levels.
Work closely with line Managers, give professional advice on financial and accounting issues, implement ways to improve business performance.
Construct periodic financial statements including P&L Accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries.
Analyse account information for management reports.
Put into action corporate governance procedures and risk management.
Manage the efficient use of resources, and look after tangible and intangible assets.
Produce reports with regularity on out standing debtors on sales ledger, monitor the ledger and carry out routine checks.
Review all credit control procedures and improve them to prevent fraud.
Contact customers regarding outstanding debt, mediate payment arrangements and monitor these payments.
Analyse credit note and non-compliance reports
Manage clients who require litigation, prepare cases and initiate proceedings.
Reconciliation of bank statements, nominal ledgers, and returns.
Manage accruals and prepayments on a monthly basis.
Supervise management accountants, credit controller and accountant assistant, coach and support to improve team performance.
