Key accountabilities within the role include: Responsibility for the accuracy of financial information within management accounts, for providing support to the budgeting process and providing guidance and support, from a financial perspective, with bids and business cases.
Support to operational decision making including financial modelling of scenarios
Deputises for Director of Finance and Corporate Services as and when required
Provide coaching and mentoring to Finance Business Partners as appropriate and ensure that CPD is maintained
Review month end accounts with Finance Business Partners to ensure that they are accurate and timely for assigned business units, providing support and guidance to business managers as appropriate in understanding of actual performance against budget/ forecast and the impact this has on future performance.
Financial modelling of potentially complex financial income streams and project proposals
Provide support and guidance to operational managers to produce business cases by ensuring the cases are commercially viable, contain strong rationale and robust financials.
The successful candidate must:
hold a CIMA/ACA qualification (or equivalent).
have 3 years post qualified experience
be experienced in producing accurate and timely management accounts and associated reports for senior management, interpreting performance and explaining trends
have experience of designing and implementing effective controls to highlight issues in a timely manner
have experience of working effectively with non-financial colleagues at all levels of a business
have experience of identifying and implementing system developments or improvement initiatives
have excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel to an advanced level (pivot tables, complex formulas)
be self-motivated and demonstrates a high level of commercial acumen
