Camden Council currently have an exciting opportunity within their Corporate Finance Department for an experienced accountant to initially join their treasury team, with future opportunities to work within various finance functions.

In the Treasury Accountant position you will be responsible for all treasury management transactions. This includes investments of £275m and debt of £325m.

You will be in daily contact with brokers, banks and advisers in the City of London and will be the Council's main dealer transacting tens of millions of pounds daily.

Other duties will include responsibility for final accounts and reporting to senior officers and Committee.

Requirements
-Passed 2nd year of CCAB (CIPFA diploma level or equivalent).

-Strong understanding of the local government framework and the environment it operates within.

-High level of numeric literacy and the ability to interpret and formulate complex or inconsistent data, make financial projections and recommendations.

-Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills communicating effectively on technical issues and detailed financial analysis with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

-In-depth knowledge of professional accounting policies, standards and practices as they apply to local government.

-You will have an interest in all areas of accountancy and a passion for learning the wider roles within the team including the Pension Fund.
