London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham
“Doing something very special in challenging times”
This is how the judging panel described the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham when it won the LGC Council of the Year award in 2010. As LBHF strives even further to deliver services in the best and most efficient way possible, the Finance department is crucial in supporting this change.
We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic people to join our finance team, and help us do something very special.
You will be a senior finance officer leading a team of accountancy staff through a period of significant change. Hammersmith and Fulham Children’s Services are combining with both Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea and this role will therefore over time have involvement in the financial systems, planning and reporting for all three boroughs.
You will have a generic job description which gives the flexibility to meet both the needs of the business and staff development. However, initial placement for the
role will be in the Children’s Services tri borough finance team
This role will manage up to 5 members of staff, and you will be responsible for a specific service area covering all aspects of finance, including strategic planning,
budgeting, monitoring and closure of accounts. You will also be involved in supporting services through the implementation of tri borough service delivery
and consolidation of individual borough and group finance reports for the Director.
You will be leading a team in a new and challenging tri borough environment and we are therefore looking for someone who combines significant Children’s Services
experience, with the ability to lead and motivate their team to continually improve and develop this area. Children’s Services experience (particularly in social care or education) would be an advantage.
Application Closing date: Monday 9th April 2012.
Interviews and Assessments: TBC
