We are determined to maintain our reputation and following a departmental restructure and period of change, we are now looking to recruit outstanding accountants to fill a number of key roles in the overall financial management of the Council.

Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer, you will be expected to to lead, inspire and develop the finance team in either the Environment or Community Services directorates, and ensure the effective management and motivation of staff. In addition, you will you will be instrumental in the development of robust policies and procedures relating to financial planning & resource management across the council, work with the Director and Departmental management team to provide an effective financial service, and represent the Chief Financial Officer on departmental financial matters in the discharge of his statutory S151 responsibilities.

To succeed, you will be a professionally qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience gained managing a team within a large, complex environment. You will have extensive strategic financial management experience, be proven in your ability to promote and manage change and able to communicate effectively at all levels to enable you to influence senior stakeholders.
