Interim Accountant - Local Council

I am recruiting on behalf of a Local Council which is looking for a interim accountant to provide extensive cover due across an understaffed area of the finance team whilst assisting with on-going projects.
You must have recently worked as an Accountant within a Local Council and will be expected to immediately hit the ground running and make a significant contribution to an on-going finance project. The project tasks will be largely excel spreadsheet based so it is important that you have excellent IT skills and be comfortable working alongside a dedicated project team.
As the Accountant for the Local Council, your primary duties and responsibilities will include:
- · Liaising with departmental finance managers
- · Manipulating spreadsheets
- · Budgeting
- · Impact analysis
- · Assisting the project manager and projects team
- Local Council accountant
- AAT or part CCAB qualified
- Excellent IT and communication skills
- Local Council projects
Candidates will not be considered unless they possess all of the essential skills mentioned above. It is essential that candidates have recent Local Council accounting experience and have previously participated in financial projects and exercises.
Rate is negotiable and will be determined based on the quality and experience of the successful applicant. Candidates must be available to interview immediately.
