In April 2017 the London Borough of Sutton and the Royal Borough of Kingston launched an exciting new Shared Finance Service. About the role
We’re looking for two Finance Lead - Business Partners to join our Finance Engagement and Advice section of the Shared Finance Service. You will support at least one of the service areas of the Councils, and will partner and collaborate with colleagues across the Shared Finance Service to provide seamless finance support to our customers. You will provide financial management support and advice to service areas across the core financial cycle of budget setting, budget monitoring and closing of the accounts.
You will act as a critical friend to the business and provide insightful financial analysis to support business improvement and change. You will also need to support the provision of advice and guidance to service managers in setting their detailed budgets. In addition, you will work very closely with the Senior Finance Business Partners and the Team Leader to ensure financial, activity and performance management information is aligned and reported on a timely basis. A flexible approach to work is crucial.
For this role you must have direct experience of supporting managers in fulfilling their budget management responsibilities, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance staff is vital. You will have excellent team working and influencing skills, excellent IT skills are a must (including Microsoft Excel and Google Apps), and have the ability to learn quickly how to use the Councils’ finance system Agresso. You will have a positive and proactive attitude and take personal responsibility for delivering high quality financial services that support our stakeholders to achieve success.
