CAMBODIA | Pro Bono Accountant for Environmental Conservation Project | 2-3 weeks

Life changing opportunity for an experienced accountant (CIPFA - or equivalent) to gain international experience & build financial management capacity of this inspiring community conservation project in CAMBODIA.

Based in the popular tourist destination, Siem Reap, famous for its iconic temples, our partner strives to ensure a clean, tidy and environmentally positive Cambodia. Their mission is to educate the local community and visiting tourists about how single-use plastics affect the environment and lead the way to changes in behaviour.

The organisation raise awareness through educational workshops and large annual campaigns. They also run smaller workshops in schools and within the busy Cambodian tourist industry. To date they have reached at least 5,500 people through their educational program across Cambodia, primarily in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Battambang.

Your Role                                                                                                                                      

• They are seeking a pro bono accountant to provide training and support. They have requested help with their year-end activities & preparing their annual report.
• You will also be reviewing their progress since the last AfID volunteer placement, including the testing of the consultancy business model that was started with the founder. 
• You will be providing further guidance and training as needed.

This broad and wide-ranging assignment is a great opportunity for accountants thinking about a career move to the international development sector to get an extensive insight in just a couple of weeks.
