The position of Senior Finance Business Partner forms a part of the Portfolio Budget & Performance Branch in Financial Management Division within the Corporate Services Group.
The Financial Management Division provides a range of strategic advisory services to drive financial and non-financial performance across DEDJTR and its portfolio agencies. The division is responsible for managing all aspects of DEDJTR's budget and resource allocation, performance reporting and evaluation, portfolio governance and investment advisory and analysis services. The division provides high level advice and decision support to senior management and Ministers regarding the portfolio's longer term financial sustainability, material commercial transactions and opportunities to improve performance
Finance Business Partner Services is responsible for managing all aspects of the Department of Economic Development, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR) portfolio budget, including portfolio agencies. The Senior Finance Business Partner is responsible for managing the relationship between Financial Management and DEDJTR portfolios. This relationship management involves key analysis of complex financial issues for senior management and development and review of cabinet and other funding submissions. The role supports the Deputy Secretary, Corporate Services and the Executive Board in driving financial management outcomes across the portfolio, managing risks and identifying opportunities for improved financial performance.
To be successful in this role you will have excellent financial skills and demonstrated experience in budgeting and financial analysis. This includes the ability to clearly articulate the financial implications of policy decisions and/or other transactions and the provision of advice to senior management on budget and financial management issues to facilitate strategic decision making.
Strong working knowledge of key processes involved in government budgeting and finance and delivery of government business including preparation of Cabinet submissions would be highly desirable.
