Chief Accountant - Local Government
Allen Lane are currently working with a local authority to recruit a Chief Accountant to coordinate the successful production of the Annual Statement of the Accounts. The successful candidate will have an up to date technical knowledge and have previous experience in bringing together the year end accounts for a local authority.
As such, key objectives include;
- Day to day management of the team, allocating work effectively and managing delivery of deadlines and performance management
- Assist in transforming the division, particularly streamlining and quickening the closedown process
- Overview and quality assurance of capital accounting, including the upkeep of the Capital Asset Register
- Managing and developing the production of statutory Financial Reporting of the council
The successful candidate must be CCAB qualified and have a detailed knowledge of the technical strategic and technical framework within which local government operates. Due to the importance of this post, prior senior management experience within a local authority will be essential.
