The Role

It’s an exciting time to join Camden’s Finance service. Following our accreditation as a CIPFA Platinum Employer, we are seeking a number of innovative, highly skilled individuals to work in our business partnering service and contribute to the development and implementation of the Council’s Medium Term Financial Strategy. You will help drive our outcomes-based budgeting approach and deliver the best use of resources for the people of Camden.

We are searching for a Business Advisor who will work to a Business Partner and lead the delivery of sound financial advice on all matters within a specific division(s), or support the work of the Business Partner in delivering these functions in more complex areas. The post holder will provide expert guidance to range of stakeholders within their directorate whilst taking a lead in financial planning, management and coordination of financial arrangements for a given area or service across both revenue and capital finance.

Alongside this, you will also lead on a range of cross-cutting areas such as corporate reporting as required, and take personal responsibility for the development and integration of financial competence within Camden.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be part qualified in CCAB or have an equivalent professional qualification, with the ability to interpret financial data and apply logic and judgement.

You will have expert knowledge and understanding of financial planning, management and financial frameworks in a large organisation – preferably local government.

You will demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills, being able to explain complex and legislative frameworks that apply to local government finance in a clear and concise manner.  

The ability to build effective and productive working relationships with colleagues across the Council and demonstrate personal commitment to providing service delivery improvements, including financial systems and processes is essential to the role.
