It’s an exciting time to join Camden’s Finance service. Following our accreditation as a CIPFA Platinum Employer, we are seeking a number of innovative, highly skilled individuals to contribute to the development and implementation of the Council’s Medium Term Financial Strategy. You will take a lead role in ensuring that we are maximising the potential from our financial systems and maintaining a robust control framework between financial system, interfaces and users.
We are searching for an experienced Senior Systems Accountant to manage, maintain and develop the corporate financial system(s) and interfaces, acting as the Council’s expert on any system purchases or changes that have an impact on finance systems. The post holder will proactively seek to drive continuous improvement, taking a leading role in specifying the systems required to ensure accurate and dependable information is established.
You will ensure the systems are fit for purpose from a business (end user) perspective, working with the services to understand linkages and develop a programme of improvements.
To be successful in this role, you will be a CCAB qualified accountant with a strong financial background and advanced computer skills on financial systems and report writing.
You will have experience of working in a Systems Accountant capacity for a large complex organisation with knowledge of financial systems such as general ledger, accounts payable, and budget forecasting. Experience of working with Oracle systems is preferred but not essential.
Detailed understanding of accounting requirements for local government and the systems and processes for producing financial information is key to the role.
