Over the last two years, the Council has undertaken an ambitious Transformation Programme to completely redesign the way it works to meet the needs of its residents and over the course of 2017-18 it moved towards becoming a New Kind of Council. This has meant creating new Service Delivery Blocks, wholly owned companies and embedding new ways of working.

At the heart of this is a new relationship with our residents, empowering, building their resilience and enabling them to fulfil their potential by providing opportunities to prosper.

We are outcomes-focused, directing attention and resources to the things that will have the most impact on improving the lives of residents.
