ZAMBIA | Pro Bono Accountant | Supporting School Communities with Sustainable Agriculture | 3 Weeks
Based in Zambian capital, Lusaka, our partner works to ensure school and college communities live in abundance using their land creatively to produce a diverse range of nutritious food and other useful products. They are seeking the help of an Accountant to provide training and support to their new Accountant.
The Programme provides residential training to the teachers and farmers in agro-ecology techniques, participatory implementation of productive and multi-purpose landscapes in school and monitoring system.
The organisation have requested support to their established programme in Zambia, where they are in the process of recruiting a new, full-time Accountant. The Regional Facilitator has requested support to help the new Accountant settle in and provide coaching as necessary. They will need training on QuickBooks and backups and electronic filing procedures recommended by the previous volunteer.
As part of your role as the second volunteer, you will be reviewing their progress in using recommended procedures in tax procedures and budget preparation. The first volunteer suggested these areas need greater focus and may require further training. She also recommends that you review the financial sustainability of programmes and donor funding.
