Finance Business Partner
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is the largest and most comprehensive cancer centre in Europe, treating over 50,000 NHS and private patients every year. Along with its academic partner, The Institute of Cancer Research, The Royal Marsden provides ground-breaking research and pioneers the latest in cancer technologies and education.
The Trust is formed of two main hospitals: Chelsea and Sutton, and have various community centres dotted around the South of London and Surrey.
It is an exciting time to be joining The Royal Marsden as a Finance Business Partner. You will act as a Business Advisor to critically-acclaimed consultants in the Cancer field, providing expert financial, commercial and strategic advice to their divisions. The Finance Business Partner will have up to three direct reports to be responsible for and will directly support the Head of Financial Management.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Divisional Directors in service reviews and the development, implementation and ongoing performance monitoring of Business Cases;
- Leading the development and production of the Annual Financial Plan for the divisions, including cost improvement programmes, activity and capacity planning and income and expenditure;
- Overseeing the provision of clearly and professionally presented financial management information and analysis to the Divisions;
- Recruiting, managing, motivating and training the junior staff who will provide financial advice to budget holders and service managers.
The successful applicant will be a fully-qualified CCAB accountant with a good general understanding of the NHS and its complexities and difficulties. You will ideally come from within the NHS, but may also come from consultancy or the wider public sector. Applicants will be able to demonstrate sound analytical skills and will be able to deal with large volumes of complex data. You will be able to establish credibility and liaise effectively with senior management and clerical staff. You will also be able to plan and coordinate the work of your team, having negotiated agreed deadlines with the wider business. In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to be able to influence and negotiate with others and present compelling arguments to Senior Management, whilst being sensitive to the wider issues of the business.
