In April 2017 the London Borough of Sutton and the Royal Borough of Kingston launched an exciting new Shared Finance Service. About the role

This role is one of two Financial Strategy Manager posts and is a key role leading on the delivery of the medium term financial plan, budget setting and the reporting of corporate financial health.  The role will be primarily supporting the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames but will work collaboratively with the counterpart leading the same activity for Sutton Council. 

The role will have management responsibility for up to 3 staff but will be supporting a team of people working across the financial reporting and financial strategy functions.  You will be expected to work closely with the other Financial Strategy Manager and the Financial Reporting Manager to manage the resource pool which you will jointly lead. 

This role is a part time position as part of a job share arrangement and we are looking for someone to work a half day on Wednesdays and full days on Thursdays and Fridays.

 

About you

To succeed in this role you will have experience in setting a financial strategy for a local authority and an understanding of the local government funding system.  Experience of collection fund accounting would also be beneficial.  You will be confident in presenting financial information clearly and be able to deputise for the Head of Financial Strategy and Reporting if required.
