I am recruiting for one of my Local Authority based clients for a seasoned and project mentality focussed interim to devise a new and more efficient way to handle the cash transactions for the Council.
There is obviously a high volume and the income source is varied, the majority of which is transactional ie regular housing rents and the old practices are not fit for purpose any longer.
The client wants a fresh pair of eyes on this to essentially transform the team’s processes and procedures, so with this in mind you will be someone who understands cash receipting in a Local Authority, so you can redesign everything “from cradle to grave” to quote the client.
It is essential you are someone who is willing to be hands on with the actual cash reconciliations (bank and balance sheet) as well as looking at process as there are many old queries that need resolving in order to move forward to the next level.
You would report to and work closely with the Chief Accountant, and will manage 7-8 staff so must be able to demonstrate strong people management skills as well as that which is required technically.
