Salary: £46,551 - £52,799 per annum (Pay Award Pending)

Southampton is an exciting and growing city, and the council is at the forefront of driving this regeneration and change.
The purpose of this role is to support and enable the delivery of high quality services to the residents, businesses and visitors to the city of Southampton. This position is pivotal in the co-ordination of the councils’ Capital strategy and for developing the 5 year programme. This is completed in conjunction with councillors, partners and senior management.
The role is responsible for the Councils overall treasury management position with a key focus on providing strategic and financial decision support in managing the council’s cash resources.
Southampton is on a journey of continuous improvement and innovation and you will be helping senior management with the provision of business modelling, analysis of financial risk and improving financial management.
This role is responsible for the co-ordination and management of a small high performing team.
To help us along our improvement journey we are looking for a fully qualified accountant with experience of working within a large complex organisation. You will provide excellent customer service and have the confidence to build good relationships with stakeholders and work collaboratively with different departments.
The role will be for a one year fixed period to cover maternity leave.
