Senior Finance and Business Analyst
NHS England is the Commissioning body who leads the direction of the NHS in England; they agree the priorities and direction of the NHS and encourage and inform the national debate to improve healthcare. The Market Development Team provides insightful analysis and service reviews of national specialised services within the NHS. These specialised services support people with a range of rare and complex conditions. Your role as Senior Business and Financial Analyst & Project Manager will sit in this interesting and sought-after area.
The Specialised Commissioning area you will be joining is a fast-paced, dynamic and political environment whose aim is to ensure high quality care is delivered by the most capable providers on a sustainable basis.
As the Senior Finance and Business Analyst, you will support the Head of Analytics for Market Development in providing insightful analysis, financial modelling and recommendations as part of the service reviews within specialised services.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing solutions to complex issues in financial modelling, data management contractual issues and other operational areas;
- Engaging with senior staff members across a range of functions to focus on developing creative solutions t support the financial decisions of commissioners and providers;
- Supporting the clinical team in understanding their data and patient cohorts in order to deliver their clinical model;
- Preparing board presentations, financial presentations and delivering on other projects requested by senior management.
The successful applicant will be someone with a strong analytical, financial modelling and project management background. You will ideally come from a consultancy background with some exposure to public sector, but may also come from the wider public sector or commercial sectors. Applicants should demonstrate an adaptability and ability to problem-solve and should be able to deliver confidently in an unfamiliar area. You will also be able to think strategically and develop a large programme of work. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills are a must-have and successful applicants will have a “can-do” approach to work under challenging circumstances.
