Forum for the Future is an international non-profit working with business, government and civil society to solve complex sustainability challenges. Forum for the Future was founded in 1996 by three leading figures of the UK environment movement with a mission to accelerate change to a sustainable future.
To achieve their shared vision, founders Paul Ekins, Sara Parkin and Jonathon Porritt wanted Forum to centre its work on finding practical ways for public and private organisations to contribute to sustainable development. This positive, collaborative and innovative spirit has shaped Forum's work ever since.
Throughout their history they have worked on collaborative projects with different sectors including local authorities and universities. Forum for the Future acts as a critical friend to some of the world's biggest and best-known multinationals, such as O2, Unilever and Pepsico, and often partner with NGOs, governments and new enterprises.
Forum for the Future are looking for a highly motivated Global Financial Controller to lead the finance team during an exciting period of development.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Global Financial Controller is responsible for taking a lead in the financial management of the organisation and ensuring the future growth and stability of the organisation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining a strong control environment, ensuring accounting records are complete and accurate;
- Leading on statutory reporting and consolidation of group statutory accounts; leading on the preparation for annual audits and managing relevant third party relationships (tax, audit, insurance etc) in the UK, US, Singapore and India
- Leading on process and systems improvements; continuously striving to improve the quality and timeliness of financial information;
- Supervision of the Finance team.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with excellent financial accounting skills and a strong control focus. You will be commercially minded and ideally have experience of working within an international environment. You will have robust communication skills with the ability to build rapport and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
